The area of PKP2B of PT. KARYA BUMI BARATAMA located in Muara Indung, Tanjung Rambai, Meruap, Ladang Panjang, Lubuk Sepuh Sarolangun District, Jambi Province and Musirawas District, South Sumatera Province and the mine area can be reached by four wheels drive through the country roads.
Mining location of PT. KARYA BUMI BARATAMA far from human habitation around so much easier in terms of land acquisition and the location is very strategic for the development of 'Mine Mouth'
The electrical power support in mining sites is still less so it has possibility for PT KBB to build Steam Power in the ‘Mine Mouth’ of the mining sites.
The feasibility studies are includes geological and geotechnical studies, coal quality analysis and processing, hydrology and geohydrology, mine plan, transportation, environmental impact, community development, organization and man power as well as marketing and the economic feasibility of the mine operation.
For the mine area of PT KBB, the amount of coal which could be mined is estimated to reach 232.750 million metric tons.
In March 2007, PT KBB has changed from Domestic to Foreign Investment as stated in the amendment of a contract signed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Purnomo Yusgiantoro in front of The President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono precisely on March 21, 2007.
At this point in the construction phase to PKP2B Sarolangun District, Jambi Province, covering 16.730 Ha, and for Musi Rawas District, South Sumatera, covering 1.710 Ha a still in the feasibility study stage.
Signed on October 1, 2009 between PT. KARYA BUMI BARATAMA with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia was represented by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia.

The purpose of PT KARYA BUMI BARATAMA large scale is as productive miner who is able to meet domestic needs and export to foreign countries.
PKKP2B area located in Sarolangun District, Jambi Province and Musi Rawas District, South Sumatera Province with a distance 180 kilometers and the mining sites can be reached by Four Wheel drive through country roads.
PT KARYA BUMI BARATAMA (“PT KBB”) exploration has been completed in June 2007 and currently carrying out to the development exploration stage and construction in block of potential areas PKP2B. The temporary result of the exploration activity that is in the form of 3 (three) layers of coal with a thickness between 7 – 10 meters, which is geologically included in Muara Enim formation and coal seam is spreading from North West – South East with a slope of average ± 5°.
Transporting coal is transported through the country roads and the nearest river around the mining area to the harbor with a distance of ± 140 kilometers. PT KBB plans to build our own special way of mining coal up to the harbor with a distance of ±200 km.
Marketing of coal will be sold to domestic market needs and the rest will be sold to foreign countries.
