Lowongan Kerja 2011 Bank Andara

Bank Andara - Microfinance sector in Indonesia is one of the largest in the world with about 50,000 microfinance institutions (MFIs), serving more than 40 million people. Nevertheless, an estimated 50 million people today still do not have access to financial services and nearly half of those living with incomes below U.S. $ 2 per day.

Independent business is a key feature of the Indonesian economy. More than 40 million inhabitants are independent entrepreneurs in the form of micro and small enterprises, but only 13 percent who have gained access to formal financial services. Microfinance is a road that has been proven to help people to escape poverty permanently. However, today it is still not reached its maximum potential or the scale in Indonesia.

Indonesian microfinance industry is dominated by micro finance institutions (MFIs) is small, serving fewer than 10,000 active customers through the provision of individual loans, with funding derived mainly from customer deposits. The MFI sector includes various types of institutions of private property and public property, ranging from commercial banks and rural banks and cooperative institutions belonging to the village.

Although quite large, the microfinance sector in Indonesia still has weaknesses. Substantial obstacles still blocking these MFIs to be able to develop its service quality and reach of the poor even further.

One such obstacle is the lack of access to capital. The result, most microfinance institutions are only able to serve customers with basic banking products. In addition, the majority of the poor are beyond the reach of formal financial sector because they reside outside the service area, or they are considered too high risk for traditional loans.

To respond to this, Mercy Corps and the International Finance Corporation to develop a joint program to determine the feasibility level of financing of MFIs and connect it to finance. These activities culminate in the formation of a vision to establish a commercial bank, which will exclusively serve the microfinance sector in Indonesia with access to capital is safe and easily accessible. In addition, the bank will provide products and innovative financial services and technology to MFIs to enable them to improve performance and reach.
